About Us
Our Mission & Vision
Our mission at The Evangeline Club is to provide a safe, supportive space for individuals living with mental health experiences. We believe in addressing social isolation and empowering individuals to bring out their best selves through peer support, educational workshops, and recreational activities. Our goal is to reduce stigma and promote mental wellness by fostering a community of compassion and understanding. We welcome all individuals to join us in our journey towards mental health advocacy and support.
charitable non-profit society
Operated as a registered, charitable non-profit society, Evangeline Club is overseen by the Board of Directors of Evangeline Recreation Society (ERS). After several ‘fits and starts’ the Society was formally incorporated in 1990. During the 30-plus years of operation, the Club has operated out of four different locations. In 2013 it found a permanent home in Berwick, purchasing and renovating a former church to create a warm and comfortable clubhouse.

Genuine Connections
Human beings share the need to connect with others, to grow within community, and to share their dreams and desires. For those of us facing mental health challenges it is difficult to find spaces where our desire for community can be realized. Financial insecurity, food insecurity, housing insecurity, lack of affordable transportation, stigma about mental health, and anxiety and fears are barriers to meaningful engagement.
